Important Update regarding the Motivate Me Program
Motivate Me is the University’s Incentive program through Cigna. All full-time employees, not just those enrolled with Cigna, are eligible annually to earn gift cards for participating in well-being activities.
Incentives earned but not redeemed from prior years are still available to be converted to gift cards. Although any unredeemed funds for calendar years 2018, 2019 and 2020 will no longer be available after February 28, 2023. It is important that you redeem your earned funds by February 28, 2023.
The link to redeem gift cards for all years will be temporarily removed from myCigna.com for the month of March. Funds earned from January 1, 2021 through present will remain available and able to redeem beginning April 2023.

URWell Employee Incentive Program: MotivateMe
MotivateMe allows employees to participate in programs and activities to reach their wellness goals and earn rewards. Employees can earn up to $200 in gift cards for participating in wellness activities!
In this rewards program, you can participate in simple activities that align with our dimensions of wellness including regular exercise, doctor’s preventive exams, UR employee events and more. You do not need to participate in the University’s health care plan to participate in this incentive program.
The MotivateMe Rewards program runs from January 1 of each year until December 31 unless otherwise noted.
Register on Cigna’s website at www.myCigna.com.
Get Started
1. Create your MyCigna.com account:
All full-time employees, whether you are on our insurance plan or not, have access to a portal customized for the University of Richmond employee wellness program by Cigna.
Create your account at www.mycigna.com. In your wellness portal, you will find a list of available healthy actions and goals, as well as instructions on how to earn and redeem rewards.
2. Report wellness activities:
In order to begin earning gift cards worth up to a total of $200 annually, you must first complete the online Cigna Health Assessment at www.mycigna.com. Then, your participation in wellness activities will earn you rewards.
A full list of activities is available in your MyCigna.com account, including:
- URWell Programs: Participation in campus-wide programs that focus on the eight dimensions of wellness. Download the 2022 MotivateMe Incentive Tracker.
- Preventive Care: Completing an annual preventative service (annual physical exam, OB/GYN Well Woman Exam, cervical cancer screening exam, PSA/prostate screening exam, preventive mammogram exam, or preventive colon cancer screening exam)
- COVID vaccine and/or flu shot
- Telephone Coaching
- Taking part in Telephone Coaching to work on a chronic condition by working with a Cigna coach. Call 855-246-1873 to enroll.
- Take part in Telephonic Coaching to work on stress management, weight management, and tobacco cessation. Call 855-246-1873 to enroll.
- Online Coaching: Complete any of the online coaching programs at mycigna.com. These include improving your nutrition, exercising for better health, maintaining a positive mood, controlling your asthma, managing your diabetes, and more!
- Case Manager: Work with a case manager to coordinate your care. A case manager will help you to understand an ongoing condition and help you coordinate care and treatment options.
3. Redeem your points:
You can redeem your MotivateMe incentive points for gift cards at any point during the year. Log on to mycigna.com and follow the instructions to redeem points for gift cards to restaurants, retail locations, online retailers, and much more!
